Accident victims should really be highly aware of tactics used by insurance companies to either pay nothing or pay very little. Number one, after an accident, especially before somebody is represented by an attorney. And insurance agents will try to call you very quickly. They’ll try to pretend like they’re your friend. They may even try to tell you, oh, well, we can offer you this amount of money, and that’s pretty normal in a case like this. They’re just trying to get out of it as cheaply as possible, as quickly as possible.

Before you contact a lawyer, they’ll even try to tell you, oh, we’re going to take a recorded statement or Give me your social security number. They’re not entitled to any of that, but they’re going to make you think that they are and make you think that you’re going to be in trouble if you don’t. But that’s why calling us so early is really important. Another thing that they try to do even with us is they try to lowball, send out lowball offers because they know there are some law firms that will just take these offers.

And it’s really important to be patient and to have an attorney that’s really going to fight for you and take it to trial if necessary, to make sure they’re holding the insurance company accountable.
