Before pursuing law, Paul served in various high-stakes roles within law enforcement. He was a Trooper with the New York State Police, where he provided first responder services and investigated serious motor vehicle accidents. He later became an Investigator for the New York State Police, where he specialized in a range of complex criminal cases, including homicide, organized crime, and narcotics. His expertise further expanded when he served in specialized units such as the Crisis Negotiation Unit and Hate Crimes Investigation Unit.
Paul’s law enforcement experience spans nearly three decades and includes time as a Police Officer with the Department of Veterans Affairs and a Detention Officer with the U.S. Department of Immigration and Naturalization Service. Additionally, Paul proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Security Police Officer, which included multiple deployments to Southeast Asia during critical military operations.
Paul is a certified investigator with specialized training in crisis negotiation, forensic interviewing, hate crimes investigation, and more.
