Michael T. Szczygiel graduated law school from The University of Tulsa in 2009, and joined Richmond Vona in 2022 after gaining valuable experience at another local personal injury law firm. He has extensive experience handling all aspects of serious personal injury and wrongful death matters, including motor vehicle accidents, construction accidents, premises liability matters, and dangerous products. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
Michael has an established knowledge of the issues facing injured Western New York residents, especially those working in the building trades. He is the son and brother to three Ironworkers Local 6 Journeymen. He is an aggressive advocate for injured working men and women, and is a subscribing member of the United Spinal Association, Western New York Chapter, and National Spinal Cord Injury Association, Greater New York Chapter.
His experience includes working at another local personal injury law firm handling serious injury cases from investigation to trial. Prior to that, he interned with the City of Buffalo Law Department and union contract analysis and labor relations at the Buffalo Public Schools Legal Department. Michael has also worked for a number of campaigns to varying degrees, including a Communications Director appointment in 2013. In 2014, he was engaged on a New York State Supreme Court campaign. He passed the New York State Bar Exam while working full-time and without the aid of a paid study program.
In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his lovely wife Carly and their two children.
